The project started over a coffee in 2022, when Mike mentioned the idea of a refugee trail to me. After securing research funding from ARU, we could start preparing the research for the trail: interviewing Cambridge residents with a refugee background and conducting archival research. Mike's expertise and enthusiasm as a research consultant were crucial for the success of the project. With the fantastic support of Jingyi, who had recently graduated from the MA Illustration at ARU, we could develop the leaflets and the website for the trail. Special thanks goes to all the interviewees, who gave up their time and told us their personal stories. Without their voices, there couldn't have been a trail.
